| Many people with intellectual disabilities
are exceptional individuals. And yet, so often their skills, abilities,
goals and dreams are unrealized because they frequently lack the
opportunities that others have. Special Olympics Canada is dedicated
to giving them opportunities to participate in sport programs which
result in healthier, happier individuals, families and communities.

| The creation of the Special Olympics Canada
Foundation signals the importance of donors in helping enrich the
lives of Canadians with an intellectual disability. The Foundation
seeks to raise philanthropic support from individuals, corporations
and foundations to support Special Olympics Canada programs in two
main areas: increasing participation of athletes and certified volunteer
coaches, and to ensure its long term financial stability by fully
funding the National Games and the participation of Team Canada
in the World Games. |
